US concern over Aussie net filter

The western front of the United States Capitol...

The punch.com.au talks about the US government raising concerns with Australian officials over the proposed Internet filter.  We shouldn't feel too special as it seems that the US is mounting attacks on ANY governments planning on Internet censorship.

The issue for the US is to do with free speech, and nothing to do with protecting the space for economic growth.  Personally, my concerns have little to do with freedom of speech, as we all know what free speech can look like on the Internet.  My concerns are with the restrictions to the online services we use, and the growth of online services for business.

Let's hope someone can stop the "Big Aussie Slowdown".

...if it isn't Broken, then run it through a couple of filters.
