Australia taking it to Apple over trademarks: No wonder the iPad has been delayed

If you ever wondered what was happening with all those trademark court cases Apple was waging over here on Aussie soil, well Smh.com has a look with the article "Apple's Future won't be brought to you by the Letter 'i' ".
It looks as though IP Australia have a little common sense in this crazy world and aren't going to let Apple ride roughshod over Australian companies. Apple lost their bid to stop a laptop bag company from using the name DOPi. Not the Apple doesn't have the right to defend their trademarks. They just seem to be defending them without common sense.
Take Macpro Computers for example. Here is a technical support business that has been trading under the name Macpro Computers for the last 26 years. Apple names a line of their product MacPro 3 years ago, and wants Macpro to change their name.
It doesn't seem fair, but don't forget that Apple also went after Woolworths when they changed their logo to look apple-like. So as much as Apple seems silly, they are consistently silly. And in the end, that is all we can expect.
