Upgrading a Supercomputer's Hardware

If you like words like "petaflops" and like to think about your computing in terms of trillions of calculations, then Supercomputers are probably your thing.  Wired.com has a great post and video on what it takes to upgrade a Supercomputer.  And funnily enough, it is kind of like upgrading the home PC, just 37,376 times, and that is just the processors.

There are eight processors to a board, and 4,670 boards. It would definitely be a problem if there was a chipset change.  Anyway, enjoy "How to Upgrade a Supercomputer, 37,376 Chips at a Time".
