The Broken Planet pages were set up to showcase things that are a bit quirky, and point out a few of the different aspects of our planet, and the way we deal with them.
If you are going to go quirky, then take a look at the 5 smallest countries in the world found on Neatarama.com is worth a look. From Vatican City to Nauru, if you ever wanted to know the finer details about your country - then here it is.
Some interesting information is about how some of these places, being so small, survived for so long. In some cases geography was a factor, as for San Marino:
"Its history belies its simple motto: "Liberty." Indeed, San Marino was such a good neighbor that it was hardly ever conquered by larger enemies (it was briefly conquered in the 1500s and the 1700s, for like a month each). Even when Napoleon gobbled most of Europe, he left San Marino alone, saying it was a model republic!"
Well worth checking out.

...if it ain't Broken, do like Napoleon and leave it alone.
